HDCRA is a volunteer-driven organization. Donations are spent on food, shelter, medicine, and other expenses directly related to fostering and adopting our cats and kittens. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us at (505) 888-4327 or pdfdownload an application and bring it to us at one of our weekly adoption clinics held on Saturdays at the PetSmart store located on Coors Bypass NW just north of the Cottonwood Mall.

Foster Parents Needed for Cats or Kittens

Foster parents provide shelter, food, litter, and--most of all--love. They bring the cats to our adoption clinics. We provide any medical needs, such as spay or neuter, shots, and testing. Cats are tested for FELV and FIV before being placed in a foster home. Donated food and litter is sometimes available.

Foster parents are sometimes needed to bottle feed kittens whose mom has died or disappeared. Download a pdfFoster Parent Application here.

Cat Adoption Counselors/Clinic Volunteers

HDCRA Cats are kept in foster homes during the week and brought to the adoption site on Saturdays. Volunteers are needed to talk to potential adopters, discuss the needs of cats offered for adoption, prepare cages for the cats and kittens to be shown, set up the table with office supplies, etc. at the beginning of the day, and break everything down at the end of the day. You can choose your hours. Adoption Clinics are held on Saturdays from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, at PetSmart 10248 Coors Bypass NW, just north of Cottonwood Mall. On certain weekends we may also have adoption clinics on Sundays.

Fund Raising

HDCRA needs continued funding to provide food, shelter, medicine, and healthcare for our cats. Fund raising events are held several times a year and include raffles, gift wrapping, rummage sales, and others.
